The Alaska Aces remained undefeated in the SMART BRO PBA Philippine Cup after squeaking past the Mahindra Enforcers, 98-94, in an out-of-the-country clash on Friday night at Al Wasl Sports Club in Dubai, UAE.

Alaska notched a third consecutive victory to start the conference while keeping Mahindra winless in three outings so far.

Vic Manuel led the Aces with 17 points while Calvin Abueva had a big double-double performance with 15 points and 13 rebounds.

JVee Casio also reached double-figures in scoring with 12 markers.

LA Revilla scored seven points in the last 19 seconds as he tried to keep Mahindra in the game, but free throws from Casio, Calvin Abueva, and Cyrus Baguio sealed the win for Alaska.

Revilla finished with 19 points to pace Mahindra, which got big individual efforts from Mark Yee, who posted 17 points and 13 boards, and rookie Bradwyn Guinto, who grabbed 19 big rebounds in the contest.

BGY. GINEBRA GIN KINGS over ALASKA ACES, 93-92
Box scores.

Barangay Ginebra San Miguel finally barged into the winning column after escaping with a 93-92 win over the Alaska Aces in the SMART BRO PBA Philippine Cup on Saturday (early Sunday morning Philippine time) at Al Wasl Sports Club in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Gin Kings center Greg Slaughter came up with a monstrous performance of 27 points and 19 boards while sinking 15 of his 17 free throws, two of which gave them the lead for good and turned back a furious Alaska comeback.

Ginebra held a 19-point advantage at one point, but Alaska, despite playing the second of a back-to-back didn’t easily back down and rallied from that huge deficit before falling short in the end.

Alaska had one last chance to snatch the win, but shots by Manuel and JVee Casio failed to find the mark.

It was the first loss of Alaska, which was led by Calvin Abueva’s 23 points and 10 boards, after going unbeaten in its first three games.

The win also marked the first triumph of multi-titled coach Tim Cone with Ginebra, which lost two straight to start the season.

Lines of the Game:
Greg Slaughter (GIN) - 27pts, 19rebs, 4asts, 6/9 FGs, 15/17 FTs.
Calvin Abueva (ALA) - 23pts, 10rebs, 2blks, 1stl, 9/15 FGs.
