The San Miguel Beermen tabbed erstwhile unbeaten GlobalPort with its first loss of the PBA Governors’ Cup in impressive fashion, 124-102, on Sunday at the Cuneta Astrodome.

Import Arizona Reid and Marcio Lassiter combined to score 35 of San Miguel’s 41 points in a dominating third quarter, where they outscored GlobalPort by 18 to blow the game wide open.

Reid finished with 41 big points, with only two coming in a lopsided fourth quarter. He shot 16-for-28 from the field and 9-for-11 from three-point range.

Lassiter added 24 points, including five triples, while Chris Ross chipped in with 17.

San Miguel, which made 18 threes on a 54.5% shooting clip, improved to 2-2 for the conference while GlobalPort dropped to 3-1.

Interim import Steve Thomas finished with 21 points and 12 rebounds for GlobalPort, while Romeo tied for team-high honors with 21 of his own.
